Hen Weekend Parties in Cork – kiss the “Blarney stone”
Cork Hen Weekend.

A visit to the wonderful City of Cork, would definately be a fun Hen Party Weekend to remember. Take your Hens on a tour of the famous “Blarney Castle” (pictured left) to kiss the unique blue coloured “Blarney Stone”. Although be aware, there are a lot of steps to the top, then you have to lay down and tip your head back to kiss the stone. Sounds complicated, but it just has to be

done ! Surely a “must do” activity while visiting Ireland. Cork, being Ireland’s second largest City has some gorgeous scenery to admire. Both along the coastline and around the quaint countryside towns next to the river Lee. The City centre has plenty of activities to offer your hens, authentic Irish pubs are everywhere. If you talk to the locals, then be prepared to stay a while and chat ! It’s just their friendly relaxed Irish manner. They will love informing you about what is currently happening in their City’s cinemas and theatres, not to mention the diverse music scene.

Shopping is excellent in Cork, with three large shopping centres around the districts of “Grand Parade” and “Patrick Street”. Detour a little, and you will find some great old Irish curriocity shops, where your hens can buy that special gift. Spend some time sampling the delight’s of the many top class restaurants and cafe bars scattered around the 17th Century narrow streets……

If your group are feeling energetic, you can now climb to the top of the clock tower (Below-Right) and ring the “Bells of Shandon” yourselves. The clock is known locally as “The Four Faced Liar”, as the time is always slightly different on each one of the four clock faces. This is caused by the type of construction and thickness of the wooden hands sticking. Maybe this is why the Irish have no concept of time !
