The Oxfordshire City of Oxford has so many beautiful attractions it’s hard to know where to start. Take your girls for a punt along the River Cherwell, stopping off for lunch at the colourful Botanic Gardens. Or maybe your hens would enjoy admiring the views from a boat trip on the River Thames. Most of the attractions are open to the public, many are free, and some may provide fun memories you wont forget.
If shopping is your passion then Oxford has a vast variety on offer for your Hen Party Weekend. From specialist craft shops and chic boutiques to “Boswells” a family owned department store, you are sure to find something that will fit the bill. For the ultimate shopping experience Oxford is the home to the internationally renowned designer retail outlet “Bicester Village”. With over 130 luxury boutiques providing high quality designer names including Dior, Gucci, Chanel, and Alexander Mcqueen to name just a few.
Just a short cruise down the river from Oxford, “Henley on Thames” offers boutiques and art galleries alongside the River Thames. Take the chance to enjoy a relaxing drink after a hard day’s shopping. You’ll be spoilt for choice when planning Your Hen Night evening out in Oxford.
Central Oxford is brightly lit and buzzing at night; restaurants are busy, with several hosting jazz. Nightclubs, unnoticed during the day, come alive at night, most catering for a spectrum of musical tastes and Hen groups on different nights of the weekend. Exploring the Cowley Road is an experience in itself, where the two principal music venues for live gigs in Oxford are located – the “Regal” and “O2 Academy”.
If you are looking for a good laugh there is live stand-up comedy every Saturday night at Oxford’s new comedy club. Rural Oxfordshire has its own nightlife – often centred round the village pub or hall, if you fancy a little more culture and chilling out for a while………

For a more different shopping trip visit Oxford’s covered market, it has a wonderous array of specialist shops from saddle mender to shoe maker. The rural Countryside has an array of traditional English pubs serving local beer and mouth watering home cooked meals. Or take your Hens to “Hook Norton” and sample some of their award winning ales, arrange a brewery tour and see it’s famous steam engine.
If you want some pampering, then experience luxury afternoon teas at the 5 star “Randolph Hotel” in the heart of Oxford, or pop into one of the many traditional tea rooms dotted around rural Oxfordshire.
If you all fancy a more unique activity then try a “Cocktail masterclass”, which can be arranged for you by RedSeven Leisure, taking place in a chic private Attic bar above a restaurant. Your Hen Party will then have the chance to make each other their own cocktail. The experienced bartender will give you a long list of the cocktails available to make. Once the cocktail class is over you are welcome to stay on in the venue for the rest of the evening, to dance the night away to the resident DJ’s various mixes.
How about another of RedSeven Leisure’s more adventurous popular activities, a day of “Paintballing”. Everything you need for your Hen group is included in the package, even lunch. The larger the group the more choice of campaigns ranging from Urban Survival to bomb shelters.
