Hen Party Amsterdam – Unique “window” shopping
Amsterdam Hen Weekend.

If you are looking for an interesting destination abroad for your Hen Party Weekend. Then consider the Dutch City of Amsterdam, which has the oldest Stock Exchange in the World, dating back to 1602. Take your Hens for a relaxing boat trip along the pretty network of old Canals, which cut a path through the City centre.

Another popular attraction is the “Anne Frank” house, where she wrote her famous “Diary” at the tender age of 13. Her diary gives a sad, but fascinating account of her life and growing up in Nazi occupied Amsterdam during the second world war. Other notable Museums of high historical interest are the “Hermitage Museum” and the “Van Gogh Museum”. Lastly, visit the Rijks Museum, which houses some wonderful priceless paitings by Rembrandt, and many other famous Dutch artists.

Take a tour of Amsterdam’s red-light district for some very unusual “window” shopping. This famous area and its many cannabis “coffee shops” attract more than three million visitors a year, of all nationalities. Your Hens may not find this district quite as interesting as the Stags, but just imagine the interesting camera shots you can obtain.

Shops in Amsterdam range from large department stores such as “De Bijenkorf” and “Maison de Bonneterie” a Parisian style store, to smaller specialty shops. Amsterdam’s top class shops can be found in the streets “Pieter Cornelisz Hooftstraat” and Cornelis Schuytstraat, which are located in the pretty district of the Vondelpark. One of Amsterdam’s busiest high streets is the narrow, medieval Kalverstraat in the heart of the city. Another popular shopping area is the “Negen Straatjes”, which concentrates around the City Centre canals.

Many of the World’s supermodels started their careers in the fashion houses of Amsterdam. Of which there are many fashion labels like “G-star” and “Iris van Herpen”, to trendy designers like “Mart Visser” and “Frans Molenaar”. The city also features numerous open-air markets, some of which are held weekly, others open on a daily basis.

Many restaurants can be found in Amsterdam as well. Since Amsterdam is a multicultural city, a lot of different ethnic restaurants can be found. Restaurants range from being rather luxurious and expensive to being ordinary and affordable.

Nightlife in Amsterdam is diverse and buzzing, with most of the main nightclubs centered around the highly popular “Leidseplein” and “Rembrandtplein” areas. Check out the chic “Powerzone” and “Panama” nightclubs, where you can dance all night with your Hens if you still have the energy………

"Rijks Museum Amsterdam"

Rijks Museum is dedicated to arts, crafts, and history, featuring a diverse selection of old Dutch paintings.

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch City and the Capital of the Netherlands. Famous for growing Tulips and a leading center for finance and diamonds. The beautiful 17th-century canals that flow through the City, were only recently added to the “UNESCO World Heritage” List in July 2010………

"Westertoren Amsterdam"

The "Westertoren Church" (1637), was designed in a Renaissance style, featuring the highest church tower (85m) in Amsterdam.

Hen Party Weekend Activities.

Amsterdam has many cafe bars to entertain your Hens on a Hen Party Weekend. The cafes range from large and modern to small and cozy to suite all possible tastes. The typical Bruine Kroeg “brown cafe” provides a more old fashioned atmosphere with dimmed lights and candles. Most cafés have terraces in summertime. A common sight in the “Leidseplein” area during summer, is a square full of terraces packed with people drinking beer or wine.

Amsterdam has numerous nightclubs, mostly situated near the “Leidseplein” and “Rembrandtplein” areas. The “Paradiso”, “Melkweg” and “Sugar Factory” are cultural centres, which turn into clubs on some nights. Other great venues near the “Rembrandtplein” are the Escape and Club Home.
